THE H.S CHO LAB STUDIES THE STRUCTURE AND
FUNCTION OF RECEPTORS AND DRUG DISCOVERY

Receptors in the cell membrane are highly important because they are the main targets for most prescription drugs.
We study the structure of these receptors to elucidate the atomic-level mechanism that governs
their function and to facilitate novel drug discovery.

The major focuses of our laboratory are the G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and the receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs)
to understand how these receptors transduce extracellular signals across the membrane at the molecular level and
in turn enable the design of drugs targeting these important receptors.
